Pre-script - guess am going to make that into a thread. going to save me a lot of time thinking about a title for the blogs.
to start off, Happy Diwali everyone!!  \(^.^)/     (yes i have a weird fetish for that emoticon)
and no, i don't have any plans for diwali. In fact our special hostel lunch was so special that i ended up having tea and biscuits for lunch (save your sympathies 'cause i have gone through worse!). not to mention the breakfast that i missed because, seriously, who wakes up at 8 am on a holiday?
so diwali is going splendid for me so far :)
oh and if anything DOES happen at the end of the day i'll surely let you guys know..

moving on...

loads have happened since i last posted here. mainly good stuffs for a change ('cause i hardly remember the bad ones, courtesy to my awesomesause memory).
to start off, DURGA PUJA! which is like the biggest festival for us bengalis! people from all bounds shop frantically before the pujas, so you might as well call it a wardrobe-replenishment festival. it is a 5-day festival and it started from 29th september this year. unfortunately we were slated to leave on 1st October for a family trip to North Bengal. i was reluctant at first because, who leaves Kolkata during pujas? Kolkata is THE PLACE to be in during the pujas, okay? it is amazing 'cause the whole city remains awake throughout the night, the lights, the energy of the people, the vibrancy! it is brilliant. people go pandal-hopping ANY freaking time of the day, the restaurants remain open 24*7, unlimited adda (chatting)..it is really the most surreal time of the year for us bengalis! and to think that i would be missing all that, was quite heart-breaking to be honest. but anyway, we hardly get holidays together and family trips are always fun so i didn't complain. also i did get two days to chill with my friends during the puja, that's more than i could ask for!
here, have a picture of us!

so flash forward to the trip.. i ended up scratching two things from my bucket list!
1) PARA-GLIDING!
gearing up for the flight.. too excited to acknowledge the butterflies in my stomach!
aand that's me in the air!
that moment when i was flying! man, it was an experience of a lifetime! and right after scratching "para-gliding" from my bucket list, i added "para-gliding without a pilot" to the list!
this is another thing that i have noticed. for every scratch from my list 2 - 3 more wishes get added. at this rate, a human lifetime will not be enough to scratch 'em all!
i had a weird moment while i was above. i had told my pilot to take me over the water reservoirs and when i was right above it, i legitimately wanted to unstrap all the belts that was binding me to him and just JUMP! ... someday - i told myself as i scribbled it in my list...

 2) A proper bonfire! although i missed my friends terribly, otherwise it would have been perfect! but either way, it was good enough! we danced, even our parents shook their legs, which was definitely a first!

^These apart we went for mini trekking before leeches got us, stayed at villagers' houses (which was so much fun), interacted with awesome strangers, woke up to the best view in the world (kanchanjhanga mountain range)! those were definitely the BEST 6 days at a row in a long while!

this was the view from our window, in case you were wondering..
amazing, right?

and here's our group selfie :)

i miss those days too damn much! okay too many pictures in a post, eh? now i am going to sign off..

until later then!
